insomnia

., originally uploaded by Rebecca....
For some reason, I could not fall asleep last night. After an hour or so of tossing and turning, I decided I might as well get some stuff done while I was awake. I...

1. finished a book (and quite a fantastic book it was, too)
2. put a couple of hours into a game
3. washed, dried, and folded 3 loads of laundry
4. texted my best friend accusing her of somehow passing her recent insomnia to me over the phone
5. put away a few more puzzles in my current crossword puzzle book

Productive night, yeah? Well, the laundry was productive, anyway. I eventually got about 3 hours of sleep, but now I'm greatly afraid I'll end up like this before the day's out. What do you do when you can't sleep? Do you keep at it for hours and hours, or (like me) give up and commit to being awake?

I think I DID pass my insomnia to you over the phone...'cause I slept like a baby Wednesday night--out as soon as my head hit the pillow.

But then again, that could have been from your inspired suggestion to put a fan in my door directly the air from the a/c common room into my bedroom...

I'll call you this afternoon and get my insomnia back. Yeah. That's how much I love you.
