Leilani and I went for a ramble in Riverbend Park this morning. It was all but deserted. I let Lani run off the leash while I took photos of the snow on the Potomac, and, left to our own devices, each of us had a lovely time.

She resisted the urge (just) to go after the geese standing on the ice in the river. It was a struggle.

I sat down and read a poem to the woods. It was a good poem, about laziness.

And on the way home, I paid a visit to the first door I ever loved. It was a wonderful trek and a perfect last hurrah to free time. My spring semester begins tonight.
