I'm crazy about all things decorative arts, and when I find something that combines that love with conservation, some serious happy dancing occurs. I have a habit of bookmarking things in
my del.icio.us with the intention of going back to them and forgetting where I saw them in the first place...this is one of those things. Oops!
Salvage One is a business based in Chicago that literally saves architectural elements from the wrecking ball. They have some incredible stuff, too, from gorgeous Gothic
doors (of course) to an
incredible antique rickshaw. They also have loads of beautiful
leaded and
stained glass, as well as an amazing collection of
vintage print blocks (see top).
