door of the day

Today's door of the day is a fantastic bank of windows, again from Tara and Tyler.

today's door is actually a window.  I'm sorry if this confuses you, but can you honestly resist those garlands?  by whippeltree

portes

A warning, fair readers: today you will be inundated with Spanish doors (and none of them from my brother). Last month, if you recall, I discovered the French blog Portes et Fenetres, which is seemingly devoted entirely to photos of doors and windows from all over the world. After my initial joy, I added their RSS feed to my Google Reader, then forgot about them. Until today, they hadn't updated--they quickly made up for lost time with photos from France and Spain. Here are my favourites, all culled from their many posts from Spain's Andalusia region.

more doors, more doors! (and some windows, too)

I'm in door heaven over here. New friend Leigh linked me to her post about Italian doors (and I love me some Italian doors), and from there I found French blog Portes et Fenetres. The site is very light on text, and the photos certainly need no inspiration, but what the hell: that's what Google Translate is for. Check out the lovely:I love the door-inside-a-door thing you see all across Europe.

New things learned today include: Portugal has some of the most beautiful doors and windows in the world.
