how to describe furniture on craigslist

How to Describe Your Used Furniture On Craigslist
I'd been Craigslist hunting for a new dog crate (my dog was apparently fathered by some sort of Hulk-ish hellbeast) this afternoon when my friend Amy pointed me in the direction of this fantastic graphic.  If you actually know anything about furniture and have then attempted to find some on Craigslist, you know what we're saying.

ps: if you or anyone you know in the DC/NoVa area is in possession of a large, plastic-sided dog crate, please let me know!  Alternately, I have a 50-lb dog who can bend metal and break down doors: call the Army.

Haha, that's great! At the same time, I've gotten some lovely stuff off of craigslist...

True enough! But put in a search for "mid-century," and 90% of what you get is pure 1970s tack.

This is hilarious (and so true)! I'm actually an architect (well, I was before I quit to sell art!), and I do know a lot about furniture and I'm always envious of the people who find true mid-century modern, etc. furniture on Craigslist! My searches always turn up crap!

What kind of dog do you have?

Rachel - At my best, I've found some pretty impressive mid-century knock-offs, but never anything genuine (not that I could afford it if I did find it). My dog is a 50 lb cocktail of black mutts. Probably mostly lab, but much daintier. With latent Hulk-like tendencies.
