2009 in review

I admit, I did some pretty slick things in aught-nine.  I went to Argentina.  I lived in North Carolina.  I spent an unprecedented amount of time in The North.  I interned at two different museums.  I started my 2nd year of grad school, then took a leave of absence shortly thereafter.  I started walking dogs and getting paid for it.  I willingly learned to cook.  Here are some of my favourite memories.

And so, 2009, I bid you adieu!

i'm an art history grad student (4 more months!) and i'm trying to decide what gallery to work at (read: where to live!) - which museums did you work at?

Well, the grad program I was in is part of the Smithsonian, so if you qualify for a fellowship, you essentially intern for a Smithsonian museum. In my case, I worked in the exhibition design department of the American Art Museum, which handles both the SAAM and the Renwick Gallery. The second museum was a little house museum in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, the Whalehead Club. Loved every minute of that one.

I much preferred living and working at the beach, but Washington and the Smithsonian are pretty sweet, too, if they're hiring. I believe that they advertise jobs on usajobs.com.

Good luck!
