change

wing
Still uploading found slides. These are all photos my dad took in the 70s and 80s and then, for reasons I have not yet been able to discern as he doesn't really strike me as the set-up-the-projector-and-let-me-show-you-photos-from-my-vacation (or of my wrecked car, as the case may be) kind of guy. But, regardless. Some of them are really gorgeous, and I do adore the slide medium.

Anyway.  I have news.  As of today, I am taking a leave of absence from grad school.  Currently, it's for the semester, but I can extend it if I feel the need to.  There are reasons galore, of course, and a big one is that I still have no idea what I want to be when I grow up and I'd like to be a bit surer of that before committing any more time and money to school.  So, there's that.  I will still be giving my talk at the Luce Center downtown tomorrow afternoon.  It's the same talk I gave last winter, about a piece of folk art in their collection.

The next few months are going to be different.  I'll be honest, I'm terrified, but there is a tiny little bit of me that's excited.

I really like that photo! I especially like that it's blurry.

I think maybe taking a hiatus is a good idea...especially if you're not too certain what you want to do with said degree. Hence why I haven't applied to grad school yet...I have no idea what I'd study! Yes, I want to do photography but would I want a masters in that? Probably not.

anyways, nothing wrong with taking some time off to sort things out

Surprised but happy for you. If you need more time, you need more time. The slides are wonderful. Everything you've touched in this blog has come together. Your time off will, too. Keep us posted.
