inauguration

Not sure how I feel about this. Clever to be sure, and non-local folks might not pick up on the fact that it actually costs $5 more than a regular card, but it's a souvenir, yeah? Is the historical value enough that I want a second Smartrip card? Especially when I fully intend to be nowhere near the insanity that will be (fantastic, historic) Inauguration Day. Hmmm...

A souvenir metro card? I'm sorry, but no. That's just as bad as those souvenir coins or plates for $19.99 that claim to be uber-valuable!

None the less, are you going into DC during inaugeration?

Oh, heck no. A part of me really, REALLY wants to go and be a part of it, but if a crowded house party stresses me out, what're 2-4 million people going to do? I shudder to think, and thus will be curled up at home watching the proceedings in glorious HD. You?
