piece of the week: hanging egg chair

I've seen this chair popping up in all sorts of places lately, and I just had to do some digging. It's the Egg Chair, designed by Nanna Ditzel in 1959. It's easier to designate this chair as the "hanging" egg chair, simply because there are a great many ova-inspired chairs, and this one hangs. It's evidently not the most comfortable of places to rest, but it's just got soch a graceful curve to it that I don't care.

the Nylo Hotel in Texas presents a comfier alternative, but it just doesn't have the same panache

Perhaps I'll do an egg chair series; there are so very many kinds.
